Achievers University Graduated 34 First Class In Its 5Th Convocation

The Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof . Tunji Ibiyemi, made this known while speaking at the convocation ceremony which took place at the main auditorium of the institution. 
Ibiyemi in his words, a total of 429 students graduated from different departments of the institution , explaining that apart from those that bagged first class , 253 students graduated with second class (upper division ), 135 students came out with second class ( lower division ) while seven students bagged third class .
While admonishing the graduating students , the VC adviced them to be achievers in their endeavours and wherever they are , in line with the school ’ s vision , adding that they were the fruits by which the school ’ s mandate would be Evaluation. 
He furtherly said the school was making tremendous progress , part of which was accreditation of its five new engineering programmes by the National University Commission . He noted that the programmes had already taken off in the school .
The programmes according to him , are : Mechatronic Engineering , Biomedical Engineering , Telecommunication Engineering , Computer Engineering and Electrical Electronic Engineering.

In his remarks, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State , while congratulating the graduates ,adviced them to venture into agriculture , rather than seeking the scarce white -colar jobs. 
Akeredolu , who was the special guest of the ceremony , said it was important to pursue academic excellence , but noted that agriculture too was also important for the development of the country, particularly during the ongoing economic recession .
In his words , “ The emergence of private universities in the country has given public universities a good challenge and we have to commend the Achievers University for bridging the gap of education in Ondo State . ”
The Minister of Mines and Steel Development , Dr . Kayode Fayemi , also challenged the graduating students and all Nigerian youths on the need to change their orientation and position themselves as change agents for the Nigeria of their dream.
Fayemi , who was conferred with the honorary degree of Doctor of Science in Public Administration of the Achievers University , urged the graduating students and the Nigerian youths in general to continuously seek knowledge and develop analytical minds in addition to self discipline .
