One of the academic staff (professor) of The University Of Jos who was caught cheating in an examination on May 4 has been suspended by the National Universities Commission.
The said associate Prof. by name Benedicta Daudu who was the former head of the Department of the Law Faculty in University of Jos was supposedly caught duplicating from an already prepared answer sheet during her Masters degree in Faculty of Social science of the same University.
The report by the Premium Times irrespective of the schools image led to her suspension from the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption.
However, it was gathered from the Unijos insiders that the lecturer was asked to stop work and also the masters programme.
Another official of the university said the professor sued the institution over examination malpractice scandal of May 21, 2016.
Insiders at UNIJOS have now told PREMIUM TIMES that the lecturer has been suspended from work, and from the masters programme.
“I can confirm to you that the Senate Disciplinary Committee found her guilty of the allegations, and has suspended her from the Masters programme for two semesters,” an official of the university told premium times.
“Also, the matter was referred to the Staff Disciplinary Committee which also suspended her from work. So she is no longer teaching.”
